Manimahesh: The Sacred Abode of Lord Shiva
Manimahesh Lake (4,080m) is a high-altitude glacial lake situated at the base of the mighty Manimahesh Kailash Peak in the Chamba district. Believed to be the home of Lord Shiva, this sacred site is a pinnacle of devotion for thousands of pilgrims. Starting from Chandigarh, this 6-day expedition takes you through the ancient town of Bharmour and up a challenging trail that offers views of the “Mani” (gem) shining on the peak during sunrise.
